The Illinois River crested around noon on Monday February 26th in Peoria. While there are signs that the flood waters are receding, the flooding will likely hang around for about the next two weeks. Maurer-Stutz Unmanned took to the skies to view the flood waters.

27th ANNUAL NOTE CARD BRIDGE CONTEST
Central Illinois 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students will be testing their imagination and their technical skill! The Illinois Valley Branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) is sponsoring the 27th Annual Bridge Contest.
THE OBJECTIVE
Design and construct a bridge using standard 3” x 5” (176 mm x 127 mm) index cards. The winning team will be judged based on team participation, conformance to the design and construction requirements, a written report, and finally, the performance of the bridge under a dead load.

Sun, Feb 18, 2018: Starts at Noon. Contest and awards at the Peoria Riverfront Museum (part of Engineering Day) This is a free day from Noon to 5 pm at the museum for public and members to explore exciting and engaging engineering activities, galleries and planetarium shows.
