Rock Island Trail Bridge Over Knoxville Avenue

February 28, 2014/in Uncategorized/by Maurer-Stutz

Congratulations to the Peoria Park District on the successful overnight installation of the Rock Island Trail Bridge over Knoxville Avenue.andnbsp; The 210 foot span was installed during a short closure of Knoxville Avenue during the overnight hours to minimize disruption to traffic.andnbsp; The proximity to Ameren power lines made the installation challenging.andnbsp; However, the installation went as planned and the project will now continue into the spring.

Maurer-Stutz has worked on this project from its inception through construction.andnbsp; We hope that you will check out the bridge the next time that you are in the area.

February 5, 2014/in Uncategorized/by Maurer-Stutz

We will be cheering on fellow civil engineer and Olympic curler, John Landsteiner, in the coming weeks at the Sochi Olympics.

Landsteiner is a 23-year-old based out of Duluth, Minnesota who is making his Olympic debut, playing the position of “lead” on the U.S. men’s curling rink that qualified for the Olympics in December, 2013, after the U.S. had not been guaranteed to have a men’s curling team that qualified to be in the Sochi Olympics. andnbsp;Landsteiner is also a civil engineer who manages energy pipeline projects across Minnesota and Wisconsin.andnbsp;
