Make-A-Wish – I Spy A Wish Team Adventure

June 12, 2014/in Uncategorized/by Maurer-Stutz

Maurer-Stutz is proud to continue our sponsorship of the I Spy A Wish Team Adventure.

In the third year of the I Spy A Wish Team Adventure, our goal is to adopt the wishes of 4 area children by raising $30,000 to help grant the wishes of local children. This includes in-kind donations of products and services of close to $4,000 per wish and average expenditures of approximately $6,000 per wish. In fiscal year 2013, the foundation fulfilled 698 wishes. andnbsp;In FY2014, the chapter will again grant more than 700 wishes.

I Spy A Wish will be fun and filled with prizes. The adventure will begin at 1:00pm on Saturday July 12th. Participants use clues to find sponsored stops in the Peoria Area. Teams meet Make-A-Wish kids along the way.

Have fun with us as we raise money to help grant wishes through Make-A-Wish Illinois! Make-A-Wish grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy.

Please visit the eventandnbsp;websiteandnbsp;or contactandnbsp;Stacy Byrdandnbsp;for more information about sponsorship.

February 28, 2014/in Uncategorized/by Maurer-Stutz

Congratulations to the Peoria Park District on the successful overnight installation of the Rock Island Trail Bridge over Knoxville Avenue.andnbsp; The 210 foot span was installed during a short closure of Knoxville Avenue during the overnight hours to minimize disruption to traffic.andnbsp; The proximity to Ameren power lines made the installation challenging.andnbsp; However, the installation went as planned and the project will now continue into the spring.

Maurer-Stutz has worked on this project from its inception through construction.andnbsp; We hope that you will check out the bridge the next time that you are in the area.

NRCS – Livestock Operations – The Ultimate Recycling Story

January 15, 2014/in Uncategorized/by Maurer-Stutz

Congratulations andnbsp;to Larry O’Hern, and his family, for being featured in an article on theandnbsp;USDA-NRCS website.

Maurer-Stutz agricultural engineers worked with Larry O’Hern and his family to help address resource concerns with their farming operation and take a step toward future sustainability.andnbsp; As NRCS certified Technical Service Providers (TSPs), MSI worked with Larry on development of his Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plan (CNMP).andnbsp; After many hours of planning and updating, the concept plan was developed through a team effort with Mr. O’Hern to include a new mono-slope beefandnbsp; barn to house cattle that previously were raised on earth feedlots.andnbsp; The barn is a hybrid including bedding pack housing with sloped scrape alleys on the ends of the barn in addition to a fully slatted below building deep pit in the center. andnbsp;

MSI designed and developed plans and specifications of the waste system for state permitting and approvals. The CNMP was submitted to NRCS and approved for cost share through the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP). andnbsp;andnbsp;MSI provided construction phase services for quality assurance working with Summit Livestock http://www.summitlivestock.com/ who designed and provided the mono-slope building and construction management services.andnbsp; The barn received its first calves in the fall of 2012 and closeouts continue to be great.
