Waste Storage Improvements / Marshall County, IL

This swine facility constructed a new in ground circular waste storage tank, waste transfer system, and animal mortality composter. This project was completed with NRCS financial assistance.

The in ground circular concrete waste storage tank provided additional storage to provide flexibility for manure application to occur during optimum field conditions. Manure from the existing swine building is transferred to the in ground tank by a force main. A 5 bay animal composter was installed on site to improve facility biosecurity.

Maurer-Stutz provided conceptual planning/design, quantities estimate, opinion of probable construction costs, design and development of project plans and specifications, and construction phase services.
