Rock Island Trail Bridge Over Knoxville Avenue

Lifting a 219 foot long portion of the Rock Island Greenway Pedestrian/Bicycle bridge in over Knoxville Avenue in Peoria, IL on the evening of February 27th, 2014. Weather outside was a balmy 7 degrees F.

Congratulations to the Peoria Park District on the successful overnight installation of the Rock Island Trail Bridge over Knoxville Avenue.  The 210 foot span was installed during a short closure of Knoxville Avenue during the overnight hours to minimize disruption to traffic.  The proximity to Ameren power lines made the installation challenging.  However, the installation went as planned and the project will now continue into the spring.
