Noah Herman and Sons hired Maurer-Stutz, Inc. to assist in the design of structural elements of a 4 story, 36 unit apartment building in Peoria Heights, Illinois. The upscale apartment building is located near the village’s up and coming downtown area and is loaded with technology, i.e. elevator, under parking garage, keyless entry, video security, video communication with front lobby, up to date ADA designs just to name a few. Units range from 800 square feet to about 1400 square feet. All units have balconies with six corner units having balconies that wrap around the corner.

Maurer-Stutz provided analysis and design of beams, joist, headers, bearing walls and shear walls in the wood frame system of the upper 3 stories of the building along with analysis and design of the concrete ceiling, beams, columns and walls of the ground story garage. In addition, structural plans and details for the foundation system, including the concrete columns and ceiling of the garage were prepared.

Maurer-Stutz was hired to design and oversee construction of two additions to an existing home. Specifically we were tasked with the addition of the balcony and Southern portions of the home.
